Generator, Barcelona
Carrer de Còrsega 373, Barcelona, Spain, 08037
GeneratorHostel is located at the top of Passeig de Gracia close to the Gracia neighbourhood, a great location if you’re looking for a calm amongst the chaos of Barcelona, especially in peak season. A short walk from Sagrada familia, the City centre and far enough away from the hustle and bustle, with the ability to explore other areas easily.
It’s a good in between location with easy access to the city centre (Passeig de Gracia and Eixample) and Gracia neighbourhoods.
Details and Dorms
The hostel itself has a spacious entrance with two brilliant feature swings which I recommend you take full advantage of, they are comfy and relaxing. There are big windows looking out onto the street with large seated windowsills, making it easy to people watch and enjoy the views of the busy streets. The design inside is quirky, cool and slightly retro.
The rooms - an array of rooms from dorms to private, male, female and mixed, some of the rooms are cosier than others. During my stays at this hostel I have stayed in some spacious rooms to the more cosy ones, generally they have always been ample for what I have needed which is basically, somewhere to sleep and shower. Some of the rooms could do with a little TLC but serve their purpose.
Bathrooms - In the larger dorm rooms, the shower in the rooms isn’t always enough for everyone but there are often extra bathrooms on each floor. Generally clean, some could benefit from some TLC.
Price - With most hostels in Barcelona, prices fluctuate from as low as 18 euros to 90 euros + dependent on the season. If you sign up to the mailing list there are often discounts available.
Seating areas - Breakfast and bar area next to reception, along with a large seating area on the floor above and a gorgeous roof terrace with incredible views of the area.
Age range - I have noticed a mix of families, students and older travellers. The inter generational mix works well for the size of building.
Breakfast - 9.50 euros and more details

The hostel sometimes has local craft markets or it did when I stayed, always great if you can have a peruse.
