The Central House, Barcelona

Corsega Street, 302 08008 Barcelona, Spain

The Central House, Barcelona is listed as being in Gràcia, located at the top of Passeig de Gracia, close to Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia metro stop, you can easily catch the train to and from the airport, it’s roughly a 40 minute journey (approximately 5 euros).

It’s located in a residential area, so it is not well signposted outside, the first time I stayed here, it took me a while to find it but once you find the buzzer, its easy peasy. The hostel is located on the first floor, not too far to walk with your bags and there is a lift if needed.

Details and Dorms

The Central House, Barcelona is a more intimate and calmer hostel experience, great for anyone who wants to get some work done or relax on the outside terrace.

The rooms range from mixed, female and male only to private rooms and the beds come with a curtain, a non negotiable for some, it definitely feels more private and relaxing with a curtain but can also mean people socialise less.

Are you a curtain lover or not bothered either way?

There are spacious lockers in the rooms, don’t forget to bring your own padlock and some of the rooms have a mini balcony with a view out onto the street, much needed during the summer months to let some air circulate whilst checking out the lovely views.

Outside space - There is a large terrace with lots of tables and chairs, a laundry room and places to hang your washing if needed. It is a gorgeous space for relaxing, working, socialising, sunbathing or getting some fresh air.

Breakfast 8.50 euros

The price Like many hostel stays the prices can fluctuate greatly dependent on the season and whats on in the city at the time of booking etc…

When I have stayed here I’ve been fortunate to get a good deal paying around 22euros a night but I have seen the prices for a dorm room exceed 90euros +

Cost to leave your luggage

Large locker: €4 for the first hour, plus €1 for each additional hour.

Small locker: €3 for the first hour, plus €0.50 for each additional hour.
