Toc Hostels and Suites, Barcelona is a great option for anyone looking for comfort, cool interiors and a central location, its conveniently located near to Universitat metro stop, not too far from Plaza Catalunya, so an easy option if you’re arriving from the airport via bus, metro or train.

As hostel accommodation continues to grow and up their game, long gone are the outdated views of what a hostel is and TOC hostels and Suites is an excellent example of this.

TOC Hostels and Suites, Barcelona offers a hostel and hotel in central Barcelona, so far, I have only stayed at the hostel, fingers crossed I can visit the hotel in the future.
The hostel feels like a mix of both hostel and hotel style accommodation under one roof with a selection of dorm rooms, mixed, female and male only, and private rooms. A great option if you would like a bit of luxury on more of a budget.
The price - can fluctuate greatly depending on the season, what is happening in the City and other factors. Prices can range from 15 to 90+ euros for a dorm room in high season.
The rooms - Clean, modern and a decent size, the rooms are a mix of rooms from dorms to private, some dorms have private bathrooms in the rooms and others have separate bathrooms, bizarrely, the rooms with separate bathrooms are often a few euros cheaper. In my opinion, the rooms with separate bathrooms are better, as having a hostel dorm with 6 people or more and bathrooms in the room, is not the the best idea, purely personal, of course. I prefer not to pay extra to hear people going to the toilet at all hours. The rooms I have stayed in tend to be long with more floor space near the lockers.
The bathrooms - Clean, spacious and come with shower gels, always a welcome bonus!
Breakfast From 8am - 11am, 12 Euros (or you can go to a local cafe)
Age range - There is a mixed age range, which is refreshing, when I have stayed there have been a mix of professionals digital nomads, City breakers and students.
Cost to leave your luggage - If you arrive early or want to leave late, you are welcome to hang around the relaxing living room area with your luggage or leave them in the lockers in the hostel.
There is a mix of work space for the digital nomads, along with outdoor space for those looking to relax and soak up the Vitamin D in the summer months.

Atmosphere and amenities
The brilliant thing about staying in hostels is there are often great spaces to hang out, relax and meet others, TOC hostel and Suites delivers on this. It offers a light and airy space to sit and work if you are a digital nomad or pool tables, cocktail bar and outside space if you want to get involved and socialise more.
The living room area has books, benches, pool table and local art work on the walls which changes often.
If the weather is good there is a gorgeous sun deck with loungers and a mini dipping pool, perfect for cooling down on a hot day.
The Amenities - gorgeous terrace, a mini dipping pool, pool table, plenty of seats, loads of gorgeous artwork, books galore, helpful staff, laundry, kitchen and comfortable rooms.

What I liked.
Clean rooms and easy check in (although sometimes it would have been great to have more staff at peak check in times)
A central location to feel comfortable, cosy and content.
The mix of ages staying here - I’ve met people who are traveling for work, going to conferences, staying in a hostel first time, people inter railing, cyclists, weekend traveler’s and much more. Generally speaking, like every place and situation, the people have been friendly and interactions interesting and positive.
The location is always a winner for me, as it is so central, easy walking distance to Universistat Metro, close to MACBA, CCCB, Carrer de Joaquin Costa and so many excellent eateries, along with a 35minute walk to Barcelona Sants.
